Our most popular early-maturing big Beefsteak tomato which was a Frenchfavouritewith outstandingflavourand few seeds. Clusters of deep red, large flattened ribbed fruit that can grow up to9cm(3.5in) across. It is early maturing and suits temperate climates because it will set fruit at lower temperatures than other varieties. Best if staked and this variety has also got good disease and pest resistance. Excellent source of Vitamin C, A and E, potassium,fibreand antioxidants. Cooking Tip: great tomato for sandwiches, salads and sauces.

Approx. 75 seeds

Start indoors 8 weeks before final frost. Sow in trays 6mm (1/4″) deep, 1.25cm (1/2″) apart in warm, well drained soil. Place in warm (21C/70F) location and keep soil moist. Germination: 7-21 days. Thin when plants are 10-15cm (4-6″) tall. Acclimatize before transplanting. Protect from cold winds until established. Water and feed plants regularly.

Water well and feed regularly when first truss has set. Pinch out lateral side shoots as they appear.

Mulch after watering to help retain moisture, not before.
